Camps are an important part of our school curriculum. Our camping program begins in Year 3 and it aims to help develop children’s independence skills as well as their relationships with their peers and classroom teacher. It is a fantastic experience for all students.
Year 3 & 4In Year 3 & 4 the camp is an adventure camp. The children have the opportunity to go on a flying fox, giant swing, complete obstacle courses, cook damper, have a campfire sing along and many other exciting activities.
Year 5 & 6
Our Year 5 & 6 camps tend to be a curriculum focus camp. While they are educational camps, the children also have a lot of fun. Even years we visit Sovereign Hill and in odd years we will visit Canberra. Our Sovereign Hill camp coincides with our unit of work on Gold and the Gold Rush and helps the children understand what they have been learning. The Canberra tour extends across 5 days and involves the children staying in a motel and visiting the major attractions of our Nation’s Capital including Parliament, The War Memorial, the AIS and the very exciting Questacon.
